Hats in general has been in existence over the years back. In the mid 19th and 20th centuries that were been used mostly in the United States, UK, Paris, Italy because it was suitable for all weather condition. For example like the "Bowler Hats", that hard felt-hat with a round-shaped crown. YEA !! that's what am talking about it was mostly used because it wasn't just wide and flat like the ones we have now. The Bowler hat was named after William Bowler, the English hatter who designed it in 1850. But even now it has been used by unisex.One thing about fashion is that it is modern and vintage fashion. what we see from the past, we try to modernise it to look very fashionable and there after create a new trend.
